The League wishes to employ an apprentice to support the development and administration of the league. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to form a career in Business Administration.
The apprentice would be employed by the league for an initial 12 months basis working 30 hours per week. This employment would operate on a flexible basis and may include some evening and weekend work. The apprentice will be paid at the recommended rate of £3.30 per hour.
General duties of the post will be;
• General administration
• Working to raise the profile of the league through the local media, club links and club articles, e-news, league website, raise awareness of the league and the league offer.
• Managing a facility database
• Supporting accounts, payroll, fines
• Supporting league Development Plan
• Managing the player database and supporting the NPD
• All elements of running a league.
The initial job description would include:-
• General Administration Duties - Reception, typing letters, taking minutes, handling mail, making and receiving telephone calls, using electronic message systems and our diary system.
• Supporting the Secretary in the co-ordination of events and planning and organising meetings
• Developing and deliver presentation at workshops.
• Providing reception services by meeting and welcoming visitors
• Maintaining and support our Sage Accounts and Payroll systems.
• Invoice fines, subscriptions and help maintain our Club records in relation to Chartered Standard Health Checks
• Agree and implement the League budget also respond and contribute to innovation in the business environment.
• Administer human resources records, Health & Safety procedures and the League Development Plan.
• Data input of Team Sheets, Player Registrations and suspensions onto our bespoke website Raise the League profile through local media, club links and articles on the League website.
• Support the League in attracting relevant sponsorships and advertisements
Future Prospects:
There is a possibility to offer to right candidate an additional year 2 Apprentice after completion of the year 1 apprenticeship upon gaining qualifications in Business and Administration. At this point the job description of the apprentice will be reviewed and expanded to include;
• Organising of League Activities for Coaches / Referees / Volunteers
• Organising and delivering community sports activities such as Just Play
• Engage with local schools / FE Colleges to support the sustainability of the League
• Working with the clubs of the League to support their improvement and achievement of quality marks such as Charter Standard
• Supporting the Development Manager of partner County FA’s and the Get into Football Officer

Training Provided:
The apprenticeship training is provided by First4Skills and is 100% work based learning. There is no need to worry about travelling to a college as all of our Area Trainers will visit you at your place of employment on a monthly basis.
The apprenticeship will be for a minimum of 12 months and will consist of an NVQ, Technical Certificates & Functional Skills in Maths and English.
